How to Support Us
GGST is seeking funding to protect the Simonsberg baboon troop (also known as Smits Splinter or Seaforth Troop), led by the alpha male Martello. Our project aims to tackle the root causes of conflicts with Indigenous non-human primates in the area, reduce violence, and empower workers from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our project addresses concerns about increasing violence towards wildlife, the inefficiency of local authorities in managing core issues and reducing attractants, and the unjustified and indiscriminate killing of baboons as a misguided solution.
